Blog Templates – Should You Use Your Own
There are many things that you can do with your own blog. You can reach out others who share the same interests as you do. You can use your blog to promote your business. You can even use your blog to make some money. In order to do these things successfully though, you’ll need to stand out from all the other blogs out there. That’s why you should consider designing your own blog rather than using blog templates.
Blog templates are not all bad. In fact, there are some blog templates that are very professionally designed. If you’re using a free blogging site, chances are that you’ll have some blog templates to play around with. The problem is that most of these pre-made blog templates aren’t easily modified. Also, considering the number of people who have signed up for these sites, chances are that there are many blogs already set up with the same blog templates that you’re interested in. Take Blogger for example. They have some very nicely done blog templates. However, millions of people host their blogs with Blogger. So if they’ve got 50 blog templates, how many users do you think have the very same blog templates on their blogs?
You don’t necessarily need to use the blog templates from a free blogging site though. There are programs such as WordPress, which allow you to construct your own blog which you can host under your own domain name. If you are doing this, you may be tempted to use one of the other blog templates available online. Just as there are hundreds of sites offering free backgrounds for web pages, there are numerous sites that offer blog templates. As with the above example, the problem is that many others will also be using the same blog templates. You do have the option to buy your blog templates and this may add to the unique appearance of your site. However, there are still no guarantees with very popular blog templates and why pay for something that you can do yourself for free?
When designing your blog templates, you need to pay attention to the colors that you’re using. While using lots of different colors may make your blog templates vibrant, they will be distracting to readers. It is always better to construct your blog templates with a lighter background and darker text. Designing blog templates doesn’t have to be a difficult task. You don’t necessarily need to know HTML either. There are many free WYSIWYG editors online that you can download and use to design your blog templates.
